Title: Commanded To Love

(S) cripture:
    2 John 1:6 (NASB) And this is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, just as you have heard from the beginning, that you should walk in it.

(O) bservation:
    Our obedience to God is seen in our love for people. It is what we are commanded to do and it is the core of the two “Great Commandments”. Jesus said we are to Love God and Love Others. John is simply reminding us to do what Jesus taught.

(A) pplication:
    On this Christmas Day, the day we celebrate the birth of the Savior, I want to demonstrate God’s love to the people I am surrounded by. Today it will be family but in the days ahead it will be those in the chaotic days after Christmas. I want to show your love to those who need it most. Today I decide to love people with God’s love regardless of the circumstances.

(P) rayer:
    Father, thank you for the gift of Jesus. Fill me with your Spirit and let me love today with your love. Let me point people to Jesus today. Amen
