Title: True Identity

(S) cripture:
    1 Peter 2:9-10 (NASB) But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God’s OWN POSSESSION, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; 10 for you once were NOT A PEOPLE, but now you are THE PEOPLE OF GOD; you had NOT RECEIVED MERCY, but now you have RECEIVED MERCY.

(O) bservation:
    In these verses Peter reminds believers of their true identity. It is good and important to know who you are. Your identity means something and says much about you.

(A) pplication:
    My mom used to say that she could identify a Crouch man just by the way they walk. Put a barrier up so she could only see the legs as men walked and she could pick out the Crouches. I suppose it is part of our DNA. If my mom could spot us by our walk how much more important is it that those around us know who we really are by our walk with Jesus. Today I want to live out my true identity so that the people I meet will know who and whose I am. I want to live in such a way that people will know that I am a follower of Jesus. My identity is important.

(P) rayer:
    Lord, too often I forget my true identity. Today let me again live as my true self in you. Thank you for making me part of something greater than myself, part of you people and body here on earth. Amen
