Title: A Sure Foundation

(S) cripture:
    Isaiah 33:5-6 (NASB) The LORD is exalted, for He dwells on high; He has filled Zion with justice and righteousness. 6 And He will be the stability of your times, A wealth of salvation, wisdom and knowledge; The fear of the LORD is his treasure.
    Isaiah 33:5-6 (NIV) The LORD is exalted, for he dwells on high; he will fill Zion with justice and righteousness. 6 He will be the sure foundation for your times, a rich store of salvation and wisdom and knowledge; the fear of the LORD is the key to this treasure.

(O) bservation:
    The Lord is our sure foundation and a storehouse of all we need. This treasure is for those who fear the Lord. The reverence (fear) of God opens all kinds of things for us and also sets our lives on a firm foundation that will not fail.

(A) pplication:
    I think in pictures many times. The NIV really enhanced the mental picture of this passage for me. A sure foundation is the key to the structural integrity of any building. It is also the key to any deep spiritual growth. Today I will continue to build my life on the sure foundation of the Lord and not one of my own making. I want my life to flourish and to be a positive witness to God’s grace and work in my life and for that to be true I must build on His firm foundation and the treasure that fearing God brings to my life. Today is my 72^nd birthday and I am still building and so I must build wisely.

    Lord reveal yourself to me today. Let me see you and trust you more and more. Teach me from your storehouse. Amen
