Title: God’s Lovingkindness

(S) cripture:
Psalm 106:1-5 (NASB77) Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; For His lovingkindness is everlasting. 2 Who can speak of the mighty deeds of the LORD, Or can show forth all His praise? 3 How blessed are those who keep justice, Who practice righteousness at all times! 4 Remember me, O LORD, in Thy favor toward Thy people; Visit me with Thy salvation, 5 That I may see the prosperity of Thy chosen ones, That I may rejoice in the gladness of Thy nation, That I may glory with Thine inheritance.

(O) bservation:
The psalmist reminds us that God is good and righteous and kind toward us. He asks to experience God’s favor and salvation. In the rest of the psalm he then recounts the rebellious and sinful nature of God’s people. Beginning in verse 44 the psalmist recalls God hearing the cry of the people and remembered His covenant with them. The psalm ends with a shout of praise for God’s continual lovingkindness.

(A) pplication:
Today I want to experience all that the psalmist asked to experience. As I look back over my life it resembles what the psalmist recalled of Israel. Times of rebellion and not trusting or following as I should. I, too come to the understanding of God’s lovingkindness and faithfulness to me even when I have been unfaithful. Today I will echo the psalm and shout, “Praise the Lord” and give thanks to God for his holy name and for his salvation.

(P) rayer:
Lord, thank you for your faithfulness over the years even when I was unfaithful. Thank you for saving me and allowing me to experience your blessing and presence in my life. Today I shout with many others, Praise the Lord for He is good, and his lovingkindness is everlasting. Amen
