Title: Be On The Alert

(S) cripture:
    Mark 13:35-37 (NASB77) “Therefore, be on the alert– for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, at cockcrowing, or in the morning– 36 lest he come suddenly and find you asleep. 37 “And what I say to you I say to all, ‘ Be on the alert!'”

(O) bservation:
    Jesus tells the disciples to live each moment as if he might return. They were to be faithful each and every moment so that whenever he returned they would be found faithful. They were to “be on the alert” or to be watchful.

(A) pplication:
    I must do the same. Trouble is that there are times when I am not being faithful and am even willful in my sin. I ignore the Holy Spirit’s prompting and do what I want. I am not watching or being faithful. Today I renew my commitment to be on the alert and faithful to Jesus. I will seek to live in such a way that it will not matter when he returns.

(P) rayer:
    Lord, I confess my sin and want to experience your forgiveness anew. Fill me with your Spirit and use me today. I give myself fully to you. I want to be living each moment as if you were returning then and I would not be alarmed or ashamed of what I was doing. Amen
